Marketing & Communications
for Canadian Publishers

Hello! It’s nice to meet you.

I am a marketing and communications professional dedicated to helping Canadian publishers, authors, illustrators, and industry organizations broaden the reach of their work.

For ten years, I worked in-house for leading Canadian independent children’s publishers starting in sales, foreign rights, and then mostly in marketing. I managed the marketing department at Owlkids Books from 2015 to 2022 and was proud to make it into a friendly, efficient, well-oiled machine.

From 2020-2022 I also served on the board of directors of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) Canada as the promotions officer, highlighting the achievements of Canadian publishers and creators.

In early 2024, after a maternity leave, I shifted gears to spend more time with my favourite little consumer of books, my now two-year-old son. I currently help publishers and industry organizations on a freelance basis with short-term special projects in metadata and digital marketing.

I also teach in the Publishing Certificate program at the Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University, with recent courses CDPB301: Publishing for Children (spring 2025) and CDPB313: Marketing Books for Children and Teens (fall 2024).

I love to bring an analytical eye to existing processes and systems to make them more efficient, more organized, or better integrated with digital tools. I love to create actionable marketing plans, write thoughtful copy, overhaul website content, tune up metadata, spearhead special initiatives, and keep track of a million little details. I understand the context and challenges of the industry, but I’m also nimble with the digital and technical side of things.

I am based in midtown Toronto and interested in projects small or large in scope. See more about my services here. Please get in touch if you are interested in working together.

Thank you for visiting!
